Leave a Little Room for Curiosity
Look up from the screen and notice the small, lovely things you have not found words for yet.

Hello, and welcome to Catfish Weekly. In this first letter, I want to talk about leaving a little space. Not an empty slot in a calendar waiting to be filled, but a stretch of time with no particular purpose, when your mind is free to wander.
We have grown used to filling every moment: podcasts on the commute, messages over lunch, even a walk turned into a chance to hit a step count. Yet some of the most interesting discoveries happen when we are not looking for anything at all.
Give Yourself Permission to Be Bored
Try putting your phone in your pocket and taking a street you would usually pass by. You might notice a green window you have never really seen, a cat asleep in a cardboard box at a convenience store, or a shaft of light falling into a corner at four in the afternoon. None of these things makes you more productive. They simply give the day something you can remember.
Life does not always need more answers. Sometimes it just needs a closer look.
This Week’s Find: Somewhere to Wander
I like websites that do not rush to tell you what to think. Are.na feels like a scrapbook that can keep unfolding: a photograph, a passage of text, an object, each leading you gently to something else. More interesting than collecting another link is noticing where your curiosity is taking you.
One Small Thing to Try Today
Give yourself ten minutes without taking a photo, making a note, or sharing anything. Just look. We do not have to prove that every moment is useful, or turn everything we enjoy into something to post.
I hope this little weekly can offer you ten minutes of space, too. See you next week.
