Just Enough
Sometimes good design means knowing when to stop.

When we make something, it is easy to want to add just a little more: another color, another button, another line of explanation. Adding things is reassuring because it looks like progress. Taking them away asks a harder question: what do we actually need?
Empty Space Has Something to Say
A thoughtfully laid-out page. A room with only a few pieces of furniture. A website that does not keep urging you to click. Each leaves us a little room to choose for ourselves.
Give the things that matter room to breathe.
Start with One Desk
You do not have to put your whole life in order at once. Start by putting away the things on your desk you have not used this week. Close a few tabs you keep meaning to read. The things that remain will be easier to see.
This Week’s Design Detour
Visit the Design Museum website and explore the stories behind everyday objects. Chairs, posters, road signs: all of them hold decisions worth looking at a little more closely.
